Prayer
A natural need of the human heart
Prayer is a useful but lost art
Faith of a child is a prerequisite
When I pray, do I speak just to hear it?
Do I pray to Him, or to myself?
And rob my soul of God's gifts and wealth
Death to my will, if it's my will in the forefront
Jesus' will should be my being's forerunner
Why is it that I put so much stress on the visible?
Short, long, soft, strong, well-written or illegible
My prayers can't be forgettable
They need not be regrettable
Honest, true and righteous, yes
That's what makes them incredible
But if I were to regret one aspect of my prayer life
It'd be that I put so much emphasis on making it look right
Or sound right, or feel right
Cuz none of these can be right
I must fight to pray right
And ask God for his might
I need clear vision and purpose
Determination and a reason
If it's this I'm achieving
Then I'll just keep on believing.
**I'm obviously not perfect, but hey...
I believe in God - I believe in prayer
